Superfoods Supported by Science.
We have all heard the word superfood thrown around on TV or social media, right? But what is so super about a food? Is it merely a marketing gimmick or is there science to it?
Well, the fact is that there are foods which are so strong in the way of nutrition. And no, you need not have anything foreign and fancy imported. Most of the superfoods are right in our kitchens or our local markets - and science is up to date on their benefits.
In this paper, we will take a look at some of the strongest superfoods that are indeed supported by research - not just online fiction. Nor fret I, I will make it plain, as to a friend in a cup of chai.
Turmeric (Haldi)
.Now, let's begin with a desi classic, turmeric. Our grandmothers have used haldi for anything and everything, from colds to cuts. But what if I told you that science has also confirmed this nasty little call bell of a spice?
Turmeric is a natural substance rich in anti-inflammatory and antioxidant curcumin. Studies indicate that curcumin can reduce joint pain, possibly benefit brain activity and it is possible that curcumin can reduce heart disease!
Pro Tip: When you add turmeric, pinch of black pepper is added - it helps to absorb curcumin better into the body!
